After successfully completing 90 days of employment, all regular full-time employees will be offered health and dental insurance, 401(k) retirement benefits, short-term disability, life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.  Additional perks are also offered after the completion of 90 days.

Health, Dental, Life, & Disability Insurance:

Kalitta Charters and DK Turbines provide various insurance benefits to full-time regular employees at little cost to the employee.  These benefit plans are regularly reviewed to assure that we are providing the competitive benefits at a reasonable cost.


To be eligible for insurance benefits, you must be a full-time employee with 90 days of full-time employment with the Company.


Medical and Dental:

The cost for Medical and Dental insurance coverage is shared between Kalitta Charters or DK Turbines and the employee, based on length of service.  The employee’s portion of the premium is deducted from your bi-weekly payroll check through a tax-free, Section 125 arrangement.  If our Aetna PPO network is used there is a $200 per person and $600 annual deductible and an 80%/20% cost sharing for most services.  Our prescription coverage offers $10 co-pay for generic and $30 co-pay for brand name prescriptions.  To support employee wellness, a discount is given to employees who are tobacco free. Employees who are tobacco free and have 10 or more years of service receive free medical and dental insurance.



Short Term Disability, Life Insurance, & Accidental Death and Dismemberment:

Kalitta Charters and DK Turbines provide a life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment policy in the amount of one times your annual base pay.  The Company also offers a short-term disability policy that provides 70% of weekly pay.  These benefits are provided to full-time employees at no cost.


Tax Free Medical Flexible Spending & Dependent Care Accounts:

After one year of service employees can put tax-free money aside in a Dependent Care Account (DCA) for childcare expenses.  After two years of service employees can put aside tax-free money in a Medical Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for reimbursement of medical, dental and vision expenses.  The amount contributed is concurrent with IRS regulations.

Kalitta Charters and DK Turbines encourage all employees to participate in a program for their future retirement.  Therefore, a 401(k) plan was established for employees to join on the first day of the month following 90 days of service.  This plan allows employees to make contributions, via payroll deduction, to an IRS approved tax-deferred retirement plan.


For flexibility, open enrollment periods are the first of each month for the 401(k) plan.  During these periods eligible employees may enroll or make changes to their current plan status.
